Projects assigned for the Fall 2011

Dear Students

Below are the topics of projects for your Microbiology course:

1. Isolation, purification and identification of bacteria from different soil samples.
2. Isolation, purification and identification of bacteria from different food samples (types will be assigned).
3. Isolation, purification and identification of bacteria from different water samples.
4. Isolation, purification and identification of fungi from different sources (sources will be assigned).
5. Isolation, purification and identification of algae from different sources.

Select any of the topics and discuss during class or come to see me during my office hours.

Dear Students

Your first quiz will be conducted on Monday November 14, 2011 during your class time. Please be on time.

Format, topics and weight-age of the quiz
Weight-age: 5%
Marks: 15
Format: MCQs and short questions including diagrams.
Topics: History and scope of microbiology, classification of microorganisms.
